In fact I could IOT this with home automation sockets and hook it up to Alexa! Im looking forward to saying "Alexa Blow my Half-pipe" or other and many varied double-entendres that work. Point 5 on clearing leaves has led me to think of purchasing 3 or 4 electric leaf blowers off ebay and modifying them to fit under the halfpipe and blow through vents onto the surface. We could call it the " Half-pipe Prince in the deathly hollow" in tribute to my boys obsession with Harry potter. We wont be able to see it, it will fit but it does increase the head injury risk and neighbour intrusion in point 2. Point 3 and 4 can be covered by putting it into a 4ft hollow area next to the oak tree in the picture. Point 2 is a risk that can be mitigated with padding and a helmet, junior aspirin and a bottle of wine for the neighbours. Like all good Waterfall projects I will treat that as a risk to be dealt with later after go-live. Point 1 Im going to ignore point 1 as there is no way Im going to the local skate park to try that out in front of a bunch of spotty teenagers. How will I clear it of leaves and debris rom the 100 year old oak tree that dominates the garden?.Will my boy be able to use it without ending up in next doors garden or getting knocked out by hitting the oak tree?.Can I still drop in on a skateboard into a half pipe without further injury to my ageing body?.Im currently at Stage Gate 1 performing a feasibility study questions that have arisen during this phase: So Im going to build the Halfpipe using Waterfall. If I had gone through the stage gate process I'm sure it would have been, more useful and safer than it is today. Getting to the point, will I use Agile or Waterfall methodology for the Half-pipe build? Well I used Agile methodology for the Treehouse build and although it does work and function the stairs are lethal and there has been massive change request backlog ever since it was built. However, I still love cruising around the street when I can on a longboard. ![]() She did have a good point however and I still cant bend my right wrist very well. Well I didn't expect to be told off by a nurse for a start for something I have been doing for 40 years. "You should not be skateboarding at your age, what did you expect to happen if you fell off?" My days of tricks and jumps well may be over, especially after a visit to casualty a few years ago where a nurse gave me a telling off. ![]() I was obsessed with it in the first skateboard craze in the 70's. For my 11 year old son I hear you ask? Well, no its actually for me, primarily. As I am on the job market after being made redundant (4th Time in my life, can I fit a 5th in before I retire?) I thought for the next phase of the treehouse project I could add in a Half-pipe for skateboarding.
